Well…where do I even begin with this family! I guess I’ll have to go back to the beginning, and by beginning I don’t mean the college friend you haven’t seen since final exams, We’re talking WAY longer than that! Think late 90’s, AOL chat rooms, “Original” Adidas apparel, that’s how long we’ve known each other. Maggie was my absolute best friend, soul sister, partner in crime! We did everything together.
I was also around when these two met for the first time – in high school! I can remember Maggie talking about how much she liked Kris, before they even started dating. You know that early high school crush, (we’ve all had one) where you obsess over everything that person does and wonder if they notice you at all! That’s pretty much how this was too! We had the same circle of friends so Maggie and Kris already knew each other, but once they started dating that was it! They were so in love with each other and spent every second they could together! After a year or so Maggie got the sad news that her dad’s job was being transferred to Missouri! I’ll never forget her leaving. Not only was I sad because my best friend was leaving, I was also sad for her. I knew leaving her friends would be tough, but she would make new ones. However, leaving Kris – no way! We all wondered if they would survive being split up and having that “long distance relationship”. Maggie would come in town for holiday’s and stay with me, and we’d pretty much spend the majority of out time at Kris’ house. After graduation, Maggie immediately moved back for “college”, but I would bet some money it was really for Kris!
Now, almost 20 years later, after marriage, babies, jobs, and daily life just happening, we are able to reconnect through photography! I couldn’t have been more excited to do this session, not only to just spend some time with Maggie and Kris, but to finally meet their PRECIOUS children. Sure we follow each other on social media but that’s just not the same. I got to sit down with each of them, look them in their eyes, share some laughs, learn what they are into these days, make silly faces, and to me – that’s what this is all about!!
July is a big month for this family! I feel so blessed to have been able to capture these moments of their life, celebrating birthday’s and one more anniversary! Maggie and Kris, thank you for sharing your family time with me! Our session was so easy and joyful, which is the spirit you’ve always carried and it truly shines through in your children. Happiest Birthday Wishes to the kiddos and Happy Anniversary you two lovebirds!
