Twins Newborn Session | Baton Rouge Newborn Photographer | Amanda Higgins Photography

Recently I shared a maternity session with you where the sweet mama was expecting twins. If you haven’t seen that blog post you can read about it here, but if you have, then you already know how much this twins newborn session meant to me. As a mother of twin girls myself, I cried when I found out she was pregnant with twins. While having one baby is a miracle in itself, having two is beyond that. Then having the opportunity to photograph them was something I’ll forever be grateful for. It was such an honor to be a part of this journey with them and the girls completely stole my heart!

This in home newborn session was all about baby girls. A singleton newborn session can take a long time, but twins is another story. Since this was my first twins session I took lots of extra time to make sure I didn’t miss anything I had planned for. This made our session quite a lengthy but so worth all the snuggles I got. We spent a majority of this session feeding babies, rocking babies, changing diapers and starting all over again. But hey, we got lots of beautiful images. That’s just part of the deal with newborns and I don’t mind a bit.

I absolutely love photographing babies, but twins might be my new favorite. There was something so special about laying them together, arms wrapped around the other. I could feel them calming each other and it immediately brought me back to when my twins were babies. It’s truly amazing to see the bonds they have, even at 8 days old.

This may have been my first twin newborn session, but I certainly hope there are many more to come.

If you, or someone you know someone looking for a photographer, feel free to share this with them. I’d love to photograph your baby as well and be a part of your journey too!
